Israel Aerospace Industries Integrates Advanced Combat Suite, Air Defence System into Navy's Sa'ar 6 Corvettes
The systems are said to track a wide range of targets, provide a detailed picture of the area, and supply data to the other control, defence and support systems, facilitating timely and effective responses to threats.
IAI, together with Navy completed the first
phase of installing MF -STAR radars on the Saar 6 corvettes and will continue
to integrate the Barak MX-Air Defence System on the vessels.
The radars will locate and classify air and
surface targets and help build an advanced and detailed picture of areas under
surveillance. The MF-STAR radar system, one of the world's most advanced radar
systems, is integrated with all surveillance sensors on every one of the Navy's
new warships.
The radar system is also an important component
of the Barak MX Air Defence System, and provides a layer of defence against
advanced aerial and naval threats, according to IAI.
Satellite Images Show China’s Xinjiang Airbase
Near The Indian Border Is Hosting ‘Hypersonic’ Drones
Recent satellite images shows the presence of
numerous drones, including Wing Loong and Sharp Sword, in front of UAV hangars
at the Malan airbase in Xinjiang province.
On a closer look, a black triangular shaped
drone can be seen parked at the site. The UAV was first spotted in 2018, a fact
that was highlighted by a French portal.
A 2019 report showed images from the Malan
Airbase in Xinjiang that has Wing Loong series among other drones.
The Wing Loong II is a 9.05 metre
medium-altitude long-endurance UAV.
Another drone that is believed to be present at
Malan airbase is Sharp Sword UCAV.
The Sharp Sword is expected to carry two 2,000-pound
class munitions in internal bays and can conduct long-range operations beyond
China using its satellite data-link.
IAF plans to buy 10 anti-drone systems from
Indian vendors after Jammu air base attack
The Indian Air Force has sought to purchase 10
Counter Unmanned Aircraft System (CUAS) — known as anti-drone systems from
Indian Vendors.
According to the RFI, the system’s basic
features listed include provision of a “multi-sensor, multikill solution”
effective enforcement of ‘No Fly’ zones for unmanned aircraft drones while
inflicting minimal collateral damage to the surrounding environment.
The CUAS should also generate a composite air
situational picture for the operator and generate alerts based on user defined
parameters.
It should be possible to mount the CUAS on
indigenous vehicles with cross country capability and powered by indigenous
electrical power supply systems, and to transport it by air and road.
The system should have a phased array radar
(for detection of the UAV; radio frequency sensor (for detecting the UAV
frequency); and an electro optical and infrared system for detection and
tracing a hostile UAV by way of visual and heat signatures.
It should have a soft kill option, which can
include a Global Navigation Satellite Jammer System and RF Jammer, and a hard
kill option (Laser DEW). Soft kill refers to jamming the communication or
navigation signals used by a drone. Hard kill refers to its physical
destruction.
Russia to launch serial production of
breakthrough Armata tank in 2022
The serial production of Russia’s latest T-14
‘Armata’ tank will begin next year, The tank’s state trials will come to a
close next year. It will actively go into serial production from next year.
The Armata is a heavy tracked standardized
platform serving as the basis to develop a main battle tank, an infantry
fighting vehicle, an armoured personnel carrier and some other armoured
vehicles.
The T-14 tank based on the Armata platform was
shown to the public for the first time at Red Square’s Victory Day Parade on
May 9, 2015. The new combat vehicle features fully digitized equipment, an unmanned
turret, and an isolated armoured capsule for the crew.
Not China or India, But This Country Will Have
The Strongest Air Force In The Whole Of Asia
As India and China display their aerial might,
the US continues to operate the world’s strongest air force led by the mighty
F-22 Raptors, F-35 jets and an array of other battle-tested aircraft like F-15 EX,
F-16s, and many more.
The question is — which nation has or could
have the 2nd strongest airforce in the entire world and the most powerful in
Asia?
Japan is set to become the second-largest
operator of Lockheed Martin F-35 stealth fighters after the US. The country is
also developing a sixth-generation fighter plane. With all this, Japan is
growing into a formidable air power in Asia, that could surpass both China and
India.
Japan is one of the largest military spenders
in the Indo-Pacific region and ranks ninth in global military spending (that is
$49.1 billion )
The country is ranked 5th, just behind India
and China in the 2021 Global Firepower ranking that factors in military might,
financial and logistical capability as well as geography.
The US has a significant imprint on Japan’s
military arsenal since the Japanese defense forces have a security alliance
with the Americans under the US-Japan Mutual Security Treaty 1960.
