Russia’s PAK-DA Nuclear Stealth Bomber to Emphasise Standoff Attacks and Electronic Warfare

Russia is upcoming "PAK-DA intercontinental range stealth bomber" will place a strong emphasis on electronic warfare to provide a defence against enemy surface to air and air to air missile attacks.

A completely new airborne defence system is being developed, which will protect it from all types of weapons - radar and optical.

The new bomber will be built exclusively for standoff attacks. This will allow the aircraft not to enter the enemy's air defence zone, to hit designated targets from the world's oceans or from the territory of another state.

This new stealth bomber could prove to be a game changer for India too who is still stuck in standoff with China at Ladakh even after so many talks.

The aircraft will carry intra-fuselage weapons to maintain a small radar cross section, much like the Russian Okhotnik stealth drone and the upcoming American B-21 and Chinese H-20 bombers.

The first prototype of the new bomber is currently under construction. The bomber is scheduled to enter service in 2027.

The US is currently producing the first prototype of the “PAK-DA” rival, the B-21, while China’s next generation bomber program appears to be ahead of both and has reportedly already begun serial production.

Backed By China & Turkey, Why Pakistan’s ‘Drone Power’ Could Be A New Headache For India?

There have been reports that Pakistan has expressed deep interest to acquire TB2 drones from Turkey and going by the strong defense ties both nations enjoy, these speculations could soon turn out to be a reality.

The Bayraktar TB-2 drones, as demonstrated in the recent battle, can deceive modern air defense systems which include, Russian Pantsir and S-300 air defense systems.

Pakistan is also known to have acquired 50 Wing Loong-II armed drones from China, which could turn out to be a “nightmare for Indian ground formations in high altitude areas.

Both China and Pakistan are bolstering their unmanned attack capabilities, while India is preparing to lease the US and Israeli armed drones to boost its capability at the borders.

India has so far employed its Israel imported Searcher and Harop drones only for surveillance and reconnaissance purposes.

The helicopters are capable of undertaking embarked operations from ships which will enhance Coast Guard capabilities towards sea air coordinated search, interdiction capabilities, coastal security, search and rescue operations, medical evacuation, humanitarian missions, pollution response missions, etc.

Army buys 17 boats to move troops faster at Pangong Tso amid India China stalemate at LAC

The 35-foot-long boats currently are not fitted with any weapons, but can be equipped with light weapons according to any future requirement.

The Indian Army has bought 17 flat bottomed boats, the majority of them to be deployed at the Pangong Tso in eastern Ladakh for rapid deployment of troops in case of contingencies.

The development comes following the months long standoff with China at the Line of Actual Control last year.

The boats, measuring 35 feet in length, will have the capacity to carry about 20-22 people, including crew. They can move at a speed of 20 knots, which is approximately 37 km/hr.

Made of fibreglass, they would ferry troops across the lake, cutting short earlier time lost while navigating the hilly tracks around the lake.
