DARE working on Lighter Jamming Pod for Tejas Mk1A, Mk2
India’s Defence Avionics Research Establishment in 2020 had developed Advanced Self Protection Jamming Pod and had manufactured 8 Prototypes to be part of the Sukhoi 30MKI fleet that was also displayed at the Aero India 2021 that had happened earlier this year but as per latest tender documents, Defence Avionics Research Establishment is now working on a light Advanced Self Protection Jamming Pod for the LCA Tejas Mk1A program too.
Smaller Advanced Self Protection
Jamming Pod is shorter by 1000mm and weighs 50kg less but the diameter remains
the same at 300mm. Lighter Advanced Self Protection Jamming Pod seems to be
carried under slung and not to be carried on wing pylon like ELL-8222WB jamming
pods that Hindustan Aeronautics Limited has ordered from Israel for the Tejas
Mk1A.
Smaller Advanced Self Protection
Jamming Pod will likely supplement the ELL-8222WB jamming pod as a local
alternative and since it is based on the bigger Advanced Self Protection
Jamming Pod developed for the Sukhoi 30MKI fleet, it is expected to enter
production once Advanced Self Protection Jamming Pod that has been procured
under limited numbers is cleared for production.

Selected by the UK Royal Navy as
the design solution for its new Type 31 Inspiration Class frigates, the
Arrowhead140 (AH140) design, benefits from a proven hull form that has been
tried and tested in real world operational environments from NATO and coalition
task forces to national regional and deployed operations.
The baseline AH140 design can be
configured to meet the broad range of operational requirements and profiles a
global frigate may be called upon to undertake and adopt. In selecting AH140, global customers can also
capitalise upon a fully-developed and readily transferable sovereign frigate
design and build programme through ArrowyardTM Company, while working with a
world class and highly experienced ship design, build and support partner.
Chinese PLA’s Y-9 Aircraft Tasked To

China’s Shaanxi Y 9
tactical transport aircraft took part in a crucial military exercise abroad. The exercise is held in the backdrop of the more than a year long border
standoff between PLA and the Indian Army in eastern Ladakh.
The aircraft is a modified
version of the Shaanxi Y 8 transport aircraft. According to Chinese military
experts, PLA special mission planes such as the KJ-500 early warning aircraft,
Y-8 anti-submarine warfare aircraft, Y-8 electronic warfare plane, and Y-9
reconnaissance aircraft are all modified variants of the Y-8.
The Y-9 transport aircraft
reportedly broke several records when it took off and landed in an airfield
located on a high elevation plateau. The aircraft flew for nearly 40
consecutive hours and more than 10,000 kilometers.
The Y-9 is powered by four
Wojiang FWJ6C turboprop engines, Y-9 is a medium range, medium sized, tactical
transport aircraft. It is seen as China’s answer to the C-130 Hercules,
developed by US aerospace giant Lockheed Martin.
