Navies Of India, Indonesia Undertake Coordinated Patrol In Indian Ocean

An Indian Naval Ship on Friday began a two-day coordinated patrol with an Indonesian Navy vessel in the Indian Ocean region, in an exercise that highlights a high degree of mutual trust, confidence, synergy and cooperation between the two friendly navies.

The 36th edition of India Indonesia coordinated patrol (CORPAT) between the Indian Navy and the Indonesian Navy began on Friday and will continue till July 31, according to an official statement by the Indian Navy.

The Indian Naval Ship (INS) Saryu, an indigenously built Offshore Patrol Vessel is undertaking coordinated patrol (CORPAT) with Indonesian Naval Ship KRI Bung Tomo from July 30 to 31. The CORPAT between India and Indonesia will also witness the participation of Maritime Patrol Aircraft from both nations.

India and Indonesia have been carrying out Coordinated Patrols along the International Maritime Boundary Line twice a year since 2002, with an aim of keeping this vital part of the Indian Ocean Region safe and secure for commercial shipping, international trade and conduct of legitimate maritime activities.

The presence of a large fleet of IL-76 planes around the globe is an important advantage. This fleet needs maintenance and upgrades. For the company this is an additional resource to ensure economic sustainability and a reserve for new deliveries.

Export models of modernized IL-76 MD-90A & refueller IL-78 M-90A are of great interest to clients all around the world, first of all in Middle Eastern and Asian Pacific countries, UAC First Deputy Director said.
