US Navy’s gamechanger:
MQ-25 Stingray unmanned ‘drone’ aircraft refuels Super Hornet jet
On June 4, the US Navy and Boeing created aviation history as MQ-25 T1 successfully and safely transferred jet fuel to a US Navy F/A-18 Super Hornet Boeing.
The MQ-25 Stingray’s
displayed its ability to carry out its primary aerial refuelling mission – a
gamechanger in a combat situation when there is a need for an aircraft to stay
in the air as long as possible.
As defence forces around
the world use drones to perform several tasks, this new innovation in the form
of MQ-25 Stingray is set to create a new dynamic Air Force with giant refuel
planes no longer needed in long haul mission overground.
During the initial part
of the flight, the F/A-18 test pilot flew in close formation behind MQ-25 to
ensure performance and stability prior to refuelling – a manoeuvre that
required as little as 20 feet of separation between the MQ-25 T1 air vehicle
and the F/A-18 refueling probe.
Both aircraft flew at
operationally relevant speeds and altitudes with the evaluation safely
completed, the MQ-25 drogue was extended, and the F/A-18 pilot moved in to
“plug” with the unmanned aircraft and receive the scheduled fuel offload.
India wants to buy 1,770
T-14 Armata tanks: Russian Media
India intends to
purchase 1,770 medium-class tanks. At the moment, a relevant tender has been
announced, and although the Russian T-14 Armata tank does not belong to the
class of medium tanks, a request for the sale of these combat vehicles was sent
to Rosoboronexport, which could make India the largest buyer of Russian heavy
tanks, and the contract itself could be the largest ever.
This new generation
battle tank, equipped with an active defense system, can intercept and destroy
incoming missiles and works against all types of anti-tank missiles. But what
makes it special for India is its suitability for high-altitude warfare.
Based on what
requirements India will choose a supplier for 1,770 tanks, it is not known, but
for Russia this can be very important.
According to experts,
the United States will most likely try to prevent India from acquiring Russian
tanks, for example, by imposing sanctions for the purchase of Russian weapons,
however, as practice has shown with the S-400 Triumph complexes, this is not a
big problem for New Delhi.
IIT Roorkee Academic
Awarded For The Design And Development Of Blast-Resistant Helmet
Indian
Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee has been conferred with the ‘NSG Counter IED
& Counter Terrorism Innovator Award 2021′ for their outstanding
contribution and innovation in the design and development of Blast Resistant
Helmet.
Blast
induced traumatic brain injury has been identified as a signature wound in
recent asymmetric conflicts. Military helmets are classically designed for
protection against ballistic impact, with little to no attention for protection
against blast. The Blast Resistant Helmet is an advanced version of
conventional helmets to protect military personnel from IED induced blast waves
with a technology readiness of 4.
Focus
was on mitigating the effects of blast wave beneath the helmet and violent head
rotation, while uncompromising on ballistic protection.
Using
computational modelling and extensive experiments, IIT Roorkee demonstrated
that a face shield can mitigate the effects of wave focusing beneath the
helmet, and soft material with the ability to slide between the head and helmet
can help mitigate the rotational motion of the head.
Sukhoi-33
is a thrash, J-15 is far ahead : Chinese media
Russian
aircraft carriers is about to participate in “combat operations first time”,
and many countries have become more singular about the Sukhoi-33 fighter
aircraft equipped on the Kuznetsov aircraft carrier, mainly because the Sukhoi-33
has been in production for a long time which meet the needs of modern combat.
Military
experts of Russia said that the Sukhoi33 is far ahead of the Chinese J-15
fighter in tactical performance. The main reason is that the pilots of the
modified aircraft have been flying the Sukhoi-33 for more than 20 years.
After
the statement from Russia, China start their counter to prove J-15 is far ahead
of Sukhoi-33. According to Chinese experts, There are huge design flaws in
information equipment. Compared with China’s modern J-15 fighter, the Sukhoi-33
is obviously behind, and electronic system of J-15 is better than Sukhoi-33.
Recently,
Russia has upgraded the performance of its Sukhoi-33 fighter jets, mainly to
install a ground attack system for the Sukhoi-33, so that the Sukhoi-33 has the ability to attack the
ground. Although Russia is called the SVP-24 air-to-ground sighting system
installed on the Sukhoi-33, it is fascinated by the Russian media, but in fact
this system is just a simple precision sighting system that can only make the
hit rate of unguided bombs.
